NorthLake Construction & Development provided consulting services as construction manager of a housing facility for faculty members of the Plaquemines Parish School Board, replacing similar housing destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Located in Buras, Louisiana with 32 faculty apartments ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom units, the $9.4 Million facility consists of eight buildings, totaling approximately 32,000 square feet with a Housing Annex building of 3,000 sf that completes the program. Conforming to FEMA guidelines, the multi-family housing units are elevated concrete and steel structures that mitigate future flooding concerns in the low-lying coastal area. The raised units are were constructed at a 17’ high elevation and interconnected by a system of covered walkways.
